Veterans Care Association News
6th Edition: February 2016

Dear reader

We look forward to 2016 with joy and hope and possibility.

We are mindful too of massive needs in the Veteran community. 3 young veterans have killed themselves in recent weeks, and even yesterday I was involved in an intervention with a family, where their  veteran son had told them of his suicide ideations.

The Catholic Leader interviewed me yesterday with a view to publicising what we are doing to help Veterans. It is great that we are involved. I shared with our pastoral team this verse of scripture which summarises what we are on about.  These are Jesus words. May they be ours too:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon us, for he has anointed us:

to bring good news to the afflicted,

to proclaim liberty to captives,

to bring new sight to the blind,

to set the down trodden free,

and proclaim the Lords favour .

                                                                  Luke 4: 16-19

Dear God, we ask you to bless us in a ministry of Love to Veterans and their families, in the name of the Father , the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen

I hope you enjoy this update from the Veterans Care Team.

May Peace be With You!

Gary
